Harry Potter Gryffindor Boudoir // Kansas City Boudoir Photography
One of the best things about boudoir is that it can be such a safe place to express yourself in a fun, unique, and beautiful way. I love encouraging my Brave Boss Babes to bring props that are meaningful to them and lets the feel more at ease during our session. I have seen lots of great props come into my studio from significant other’s clothing to fandom costumes (Stars Wars, Doctor Who, Wonder Woman, Marvel, Lord of the Rings…) to occupational outfits (sexy doctors and firefighters are REAL).
I give a ton of great ideas and suggestions on what to pack for your session in this blog post here.
No matter what I always get excited when it is time to shoot a session, but is always a ton of fun and really sparks my imagination when the props get added in. It makes me want to try new and exciting things!
So when I started going through the wardrobe that this lovely young lady have brought in for her session and saw just a scarf and wand I knew we were going to have some fun!
She is a BIG Harry Potter fan and obviously has been sorted into the Gryffindor house. She had a beautiful wand that was a Hermoine replica. It was really heavy and had a great feel (so unlike those cheap plastic replicas) and as we were talking during her hair and makeup application I could tell her love of the Potter-verse was REAL. So I started scheming out some poses in my head that would be beautiful, tasteful, nerdy, and fun all at once.
Here are a few that I came up with and think that they were totally gorgeous!
