Last week I had the chance to photograph a beautiful woman who spends her entire life serving others and keeping our communities safe.
Not only is she a FULL TIME Paramedic, she also serves as a part-time fire fighter. She is a TOTAL Brave Boss Babe working in a man’s world. During our session she spoke of her passion for her work, how she would love to be part of a wildfire brigade, put herself out on the front line and do the work that most of us would run away from screaming.
Throughout her hair and makeup process I was alternatively cringing and laughing as she told story after story about the wild things she sees as a full time paramedic (don’t worry - no HIPAA codes were violated). Would you believe this lady has NINE emergency baby deliveries under her belt and she isn’t even 35?
Even with all of those high stakes situations and training and moments she said she still felt nervous coming in for her session.
This woman - who literally sees people in mortal danger - got nerves about having her photo snapped! I loved that she told me that because that is just so, so real. We all have these same fears and concerns and worries no matter what walk of life we are coming from.
It was so awesome to have her come into studio when she spend so much time with me just loving on herself and tapping into something she doesn’t always get to do while working in a male dominated field.
