Loving Her Body Unconditionally // Kansas City Boudoir Photography
Have you ever gone through an unexpected change in your life? Or had something taken from you unfairly? Be it in your career, relationship, health…
… you know it doesn’t always take much to totally derail what you thought your plans would be. In the blink of an eye your joy, your passion, can be snatched away and leave you feeling like you are floundering for a sense of self.
For me that happened a few different times with career paths so I totally understood where Brave Boss Babe Victoria was coming from for her session motivation.
You see when Victoria was young she danced and danced and danced. Everything from dance team in school to practicing ballet, jazz, modern… she loved it! It was her passion and her joy, but early in high school she sustained a knee injury that would take her out of the dance game forever.
This thing she had poured hundreds and thousands of hours into, buckets of sweat, and so many hopes and dreams was taken away in a single instant and that left her feeling pretty crummy.
So time went by and the pain lessened from the loss of her ability to dance at a high caliber and, as it so often happens, Brave Boss Babe Victoria’s body started changing. She gained weight like we all do after high school, but that partnered with the loss of her favorite way to move her body left her feeling less than confident.
She knew she was beautiful. Her boyfriend told her all of the time as did her family and friends, but she did not feel it. She could not see the beauty that everyone else was telling her was there, but she also was not content to just sit and mope about it. This Brave Boss Babe was all about action!
So she reached out to our studio. She chose us because we are a Certified Professional Boudoir Photographer studio as well as an active member in the Association of International Boudoir Photographers PLUS run by the number one photographer in all of Kansas City as voted by the public in the Pitch Kansas City 2019. If anyone could get her feeling like her old self again – she knew it would be us!
And we are so thankful that Brave Boss Babe Victoria trusted us to show her just how stunningly gorgeous she is! Her smile is so full of warmth and her skin is incredible. She is sweet and kind and strong and it was such a joy to celebrate her through this session.
Most rewarding was revealing the images at the end of her shoot so she could select her favorites. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing!
“Oh my gosh is that ME?” was heard over and over again as we reviewed the dozens of images we captured during her session.
And the answer was YES! Yes that was her and she was just as beautiful, if not moreso, than anyone had ever told her.
The most important part is that, finally, Brave Boss Babe Victoria believed that. She believed that she was beautiful and worthy of being praised. She believed that her body, even though it had failed her, was something that deserved affection and love – not just regret and shame.
Brave Boss Babe Victoria unlocked her sexy confidence in this session like nobody’s business and we are all just so proud of her!

So I had my first session and can I just say, Leah is the most amazing photographer I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I felt so comfortable and gorgeous in every outfit and every pose. She made sure I was relaxed before we began and reassuring me that nerves were 100% normal. Needless to say, I will be back for another session. Thank you so much for the best experience ever!
