FLIP YOUR MENTAL SCRIPT: Moving From Negativity to Positivity TODAY

When we are thrown with difficult things, it can control us. I don’t know about you but I have been stuck in my own negative thought cycle more than once! It is so easy to get stuck in negativity, but that does not mean we need to stay there. Here are some helpful tools that have gotten me out of my own negative spiral.


LIMITING BELIEFS 


What we believe about ourselves, what we can accomplish, and how we can move forward can be limited. Whether it is about physical appearance, finances, health, or relationship… we can create lots of stories around our lives that are false. That’s normal. But these limiting beliefs are not the ultimate truths, or maybe, NOT EVEN TRUE AT ALL. 


Limiting beliefs like: “I am not good enough” or “I’ll do that when I am older” keep up from our true potential. Limiting beliefs are just what we allow ourselves to see and believe as our reality, when in fact they are not.

We are capable of great things! But first we have to change our mindset.

Here is a step-by-step guide to diagnose and correct limiting beliefs in your own life and how to turn the tables!


1. Identify Your Limiting Beliefs

Start by listening to your inner voice. Do you ever catch yourself saying:

"I'm never gonna make it"

"I'm not good enough"

"I'm not good at playing sports/singing/dancing"

“I’ll never have enough money”

These are examples of limiting beliefs and the moment you identify yours and acknowledge them… Well, that is the moment that you can start changing them!


2. Challenge Them

What better way to challenge your "beliefs" than taking the time to reflect on them? Pay attention to how you think. Notice what thoughts come up around challenging parts of your life. Once you have identified your limiting beliefs, ask yourself these questions:

“Why do I believe this? When did this start? What is driving me to believe this about myself?"


3. Take Control

After you have reflected, tell yourself that you have control! 

Since you have control you can control those limiting beliefs and not the other way around. 

So instead of acting based on that belief, change it and TURN the limiting beliefs INTO EMPOWERING ONES.


REFRAMING YOUR BELIEFS


After successful identification and reflection, you can start to reframe your beliefs by changing the negative beliefs to positive affirmations. 


A good example of this is instead of saying:

“I’ll never be good at this”

to say: “I can learn this”.

Once you have reframed your limiting beliefs, BRING THEM TO LIFE. 

You can record yourself saying them and then listen every day and whenever needed, or write them on your mirror with dry erase markers, whatever it takes for them to stick.

The important thing is that YOU MAKE IT A PART OF YOUR DAILY LIFE because continuously repeated affirmations are sooner or later accepted by our subconscious which then releases its enormous power to materialize the intention of the affirmation phrases on the outside world.
