It can be easy to get lost in our day-to-day lives. Work, friends, family, chores...they can start to make us feel stressed and like life is flying by us.
And as women this hits us especially hard. We’re typically seen as the caretakers - the ones on call, running the house, the calendars, the practice pickups...and on and on and on…
And somehow, we begin to feel like that’s ALL we are. We lose sight of the woman we are inside - the powerhouse, the vixen, the sultry queen that needs to be pampered once in a while.

That’s what boudoir gives you. The opportunity to reconnect with the part of yourself that can get lost in your daily life. To give you a little something to remember when you feel like life is just too busy, too same-every-day to be exciting.
A boudoir shoot allows you to step into and claim the woman you are or the woman you WANT to be.

That is where Brave Boss Babe Ashley was when she reached out to me. She spends her life serving others as a nurse, mother, and significant other. On top of that she is an abuse survivor, but the emotional scars still lingered. Was she worthy of affection? Did she deserve good and lovely things?
Obviously the answer is a resounding YES - but sometimes that is challenging to see with your own eyes. You have to have a professional step in, capture, and show you your sexy side. That is exactly what I did.
As a Certified Professional Boudoir Photographer and a member of the Association of International Boudoir Photographers AND was voted NUMBER ONE Photographer in all of Kansas City in The Pitch 2019 I take this VERY seriously.
Brave Boss Babe Ashley told us that she had long held a love for the pin-up era so we used that as inspiration for her hair and makeup. We went with big, full curls and a vibrant red lip to capture that old school femininity that just screams “I’M A WOMAN. HEAR ME ROAR!”
Part of her love of all things retro includes her love of vinyl. She brought in a small sample of some records she has collected over the year and we used that to inform a session that was 100% unique and 100% her. That paired with her perfect red lip, black mesh body suit, fish nets, and daisy duke shorts made for the perfect rock-a-billy babe that made her feel powerful.

I had my very first boudoir photography experience yesterday with Leah, and it was amazing! I felt so pampered and special. Everything about the shoot was catered to me, and made me feel fabulous. I didn't know what to expect, but Leah's direction and guidance put me at ease immediately. Her wonderful hair and make-up artist made me look and feel absolutely beautiful. The shoot itself was so much fun, and the pictures were amazing. They gave me the gift of confidence and looking at myself in a whole new, and much more appreciative light.
